Yeah, I'm back. First, let's do the apologies. Apart from what's stored on this site - and hence, not in my home - I have no code, no documentation, no designs, no art. This was caused by an unfortunate incident involving hell not having such fury, and which saw rather a lot of destruction of hard drives in both my dev ...

I was just talking to somebody who used to be my friend. A long time ago. We fell out, over the concept of Skinner boxes. See, I had design ideas. He had design ideas. I'm a programmer. He isn't. This gives me balance of power over who gets their ideas implemented because I don't want to code ...

Not that i needed reminding this time. There's a really great article over at Terra Nova concerning real reactions to virtual communities and events. And the discussion was equally interesting. But that, as with all good things, came to an end when it suffered a full-on spam-missive comment attack by the USS Prokofy Neva in full ...

Time has come around again for me to do some of that funky blogosphere thing and reference other people in a pathetic attempt to seem cool and interesting. So, what can I turn my unwanted and irrelevant opinion on this week that you might bypass without regret and probably with considerable relief?
Oh hey, i know. I'll be original and ...

Naming first, then. Why am i using my own name instead of ''Cael''? Because it's something i should have done long ago.
When we first started this project, our friend Richard R was in charge, so i stuck with ''Cael'' to make life a little easier and avoid any possible confusion. ''Cael'', in case you wondered, is a name i've ...

Microsoft start releasing developer updates and whitepapers specifically and unambiguously aimed at your industry. The DirectX SDK (Feb 2007) contains many bits and pieces, some Vista-related and others more general. I have been buried in it since release except for a small abortive attempt to play PlanetSide last night - it's a foible ...

Horrendous CTD which locks up the mahine unless you can manage to logout through CTRL+ALT+DEL.
That sucks. Sort it out, Sony. Planetside is the bug-free game, remember?

It's become rather fashionable recently to post interviews with popular people. Rather than repeat the excited fanboi squealing that we so often get, i decided my own interview would be with someone who actively loathes me. What do you mean ''bandwagon''? Bandwagons are fun. This was not a fun interview.Rich Bryant: ...

Two of the guys from Gathering of Developers have launched a publisher for Indies.
Obviously, i can't speak for the rest of the industry but a large part of my psyche really wants to get published by company named ''GameCock''. Plus of course, if they ever box and sell the Second Life client, i can think of nobody better.
